Matador Pizza: A Calgary Gem for Flavorful Pizzas and Warm Hospitality

We recently visited for the first time and had a wonderful evening. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our wine and pizzas; I highly recommend the Traditional Greek, which was packed with flavor. The staff were gracious and made us feel well taken care of. I imagine this place is busy most days, filled with an older demographic of loyal regulars. While the decor may feel a little dated, the restaurant was spotless and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team. We look forward to returning soon!

A successful small business that has persisted more than 30 years. Yet through all the trials and tribulations it has been a steadfast cornerstone of the varsity community here in Calgary. Delicious pizza, and a welcoming atmosphere. They just started a new promotion with different types of topped fries. I enjoy the extremely hot wings here and especially finishing with a large portion of tiramisu at the end. Come by and support the continuation of this wonderful restaurant.

I have found my happy place in Varsity, Calgary!! Their pizza is cheesy and I mean it when I say cheesy! With each bite your mouth goes inside a pillow of happiness and taste! Trust me and go visit them for one of their delicious meals. Whatever size you have in mind, order one bigger because you want to take home some!

Every single item on the menu I’ve tried has not disappointed. Very generous toppings and the taste is amazing. Don’t get me started on the service from the staff each and everyone person that serves me is fantastic! Especially Poly. Thank you for filling my tummy Matador team

Visited Matador Pizza on a Wednesday night around 10 pm. It was quiet with just a few tables occupied, creating a cozy vibe. There was live music in the bar area, which we could hear from the dining room - not too loud, and actually pretty nice. Service was a highlight, our waitress was quick and friendly. Tried the Matador Special pizza and Greek Style Chicken - the chicken was fantastic, even as leftovers the next day. The pizza was too thick for my taste but my husband loved it. Overall, a great spot for a chilled evening with good food and live music!

Absolutely amazing!! You know that small pizza/pasta joint that you used to go to as a kid that was family owned and every dish was awesome? THIS IS THAT PLACE!!! The Greek salad was hearty with a substantial helping of feta with just the right amount of dressing. The loaded pizza was a beast with a great topping ratio and a generous amount of cheese. The crust was crispy perfect with a thick edge. Jolene was an amazing server that ensured the meal was fantastic. The host "Wyatt" , IYKYK, was prompt and friendly. Will DEFINITELY be returning and HIGHLY recommend.
